Kathmandu Travel Diary

Twice Each year for the past 15 years Denis Colomb has been traveling to Nepal to work on his collections .
There are countless historic and holy sites to visit, some of which are being restored by Unesco and the World Monument Fund. The high Himalayan peaks are within reach and are first seen from the flight into Kathmandu, and from various points in the city. Denis was initially drawn here by the quality of the hand-weaving techniques and the ability to procure the finest cashmere. As he says “I am constantly in awe of the deep spirituality and traditional lifestyle that has been part of the Nepali way of life for centuries. As a source of inspiration I love to explore the country when I have time most recently had the opportunity to visit Lumbini which is the birthplace of the Buddha, as well as the Chitwan National Park.”
